Clean on the Inside: A Family Devotional for Holy Week

CleanOnTheInside: A Family Devotional for Holy Week

Hi Friend!

I am thrilled that you are seeking a way to help your family grow this Easter season!

It is the deep prayer of my heart that this devotional will help you do that. As we reflect on and remember the last week of Jesus’ life, I pray that we will grow in our knowledge and understanding of the events of that week. Even more so, however, I pray that this year, we will recognize in a new way our own need for a Savior and respond to Him!

Why did I write this?

As I mentioned yesterday, my pastor mentioned the idea of having a Holy Week family devotional for the families in our church. That was the echo of my own heart, and the Lord wouldn’t let me forget it! Though feeling inadequate and insecure, I started praying, brainstorming, studying, and writing. This is what He put on my heart. I pray that this devotional will be a blessing and an encouragement to your family as we celebrate the death and resurrection of our Savior!

What is Holy Week?

Holy Week begins with Palm Sunday and ends on Resurrection Sunday (Easter Sunday).

Who can benefit from this devotional?

This devotional is written for families. Each day includes

  • a Bible passage
  • a devotional to read together as a family
  • discussion and reflection questions for kids
  • discussion and reflection questions for adults
  • an activity to extend the topic
  • a ‘create a reminder’ craft idea

Do we have to complete every activity or participate every day?

No! This devotional is a tool for you! I am a mom of a Kindergartner, a preschooler, a toddler, and one on the way. I know how busy life can be and how our days often don’t go the way we planned!

The way I see it, any time reading the Bible together is better than no time reading it. As I wrote in the preface:

“Some days include multiple activities. Don’t feel you need to complete them all and feel free to modify where necessary. These are simply suggested activities to help take the concept of the day one step further.

Do what works best for your family. This is not meant to be a strict format to follow but a tool to help you reflect and respond to Jesus this week.”

Do I have to own a Kindle, iPad, or iPhone to read this book?

Nope! This book is formatted as a PDF. That means you can read it on your computer or any other device that opens PDF (this includes Kindles, iPads, iPhones, and many other smart phones).

Can I share about this book with others?

Yes, please do! I would be honored if you shared about this book with others. Word of mouth, e-mail, Facebook, and twitter are all great tools to share about things you love. If you have a blog or website, feel free to post the button below which links others back here.

Please, however, do not e-mail or send the PDF file to others. Even though this is a PDF resource, it is copyrighted. Please send others back to this blog to purchase and download the file directly from me. Thanks for understanding!

  1. Hi Erika! I’m so excited to pour through this eBook! You’ve done a fabulous job! I appreciate your heart & dedication!
(I’m having trouble posting the button… any ideas?)
    Blessings!
    Jessica

    • Hi Jessica, let me look into it and get back to you. {I’m still learning how to create these goofy things!} Thanks for letting me know!

      • Okay, so I figured out that the reason it’s not posting is because when you copy and paste the code in the box, it doubles all of the quotation marks in the html code. For the life of me, though, I can’t figure out how to change that! If you’d like to post a button, you’d need to go in and adjust the quotation marks in the html so there is only one set of quotes around each piece OR you could “Save as” the image and upload the image onto your site and link it here. I am SO sorry for the trouble!

If anyone knows a solution to my problem and would like to help, I’d sure appreciate it! I have a lot to learn! :)
